Three Memorable Childhood Experiences.

Sometimes, I think back on my childhood but it is difficult to think exactly what I did. As a fifth composition activity, I am going to write three memorable childhood experiences.

A first thing which I can remember is this. It's hard to explain because it's unusual thing but I will do my best to let you understand. When I was childhood, I used to go to mountain, which is located very near from my town, with my friend and brothers. There was very small stream after rained. Can you imagine that stream? Anyway, we went to there and made very small dams. We not only made dams but also attacked the other's dams. They were lots of dams which I and my friends made. I waited timing until my dam was full with water. When it was full with water, I broke my dams to make a flood. If their dams were safe from the flood, it was a their victory. On the other hand, I broke the other's dams, it was my victory. The thing was that who makes bigger dam than other's. One day, i and my brother went to a mountain to do that play. He found a stone, which is very useful for making a dam. He rolled the stone to me. unfortunately, i couldn't avoid that rolling stone and it hit my face. It made big scars on my face so I could remember that day but I didn't blame my brother and the stone. I wish I could go back to that time and had fun with them again.

I can remember a my first Christmas tree, which I made with my two elder brothers. At that time, my parents were too busy so they couldn't take care of us often. We decided to make a Christmas tree ourselves. We were saving the money to make a Christmas tree. Although we could buy some decorations, we couldn't buy a tree. We couldn't help but uproot a tree which is in a mountain. We went to the mountain, in which we used to make a dam, with a shovel. Most trees were too tall and big so it was hard to do that because we were still children. Finally, we found a proper tree and tried to uproot it. However, it was not that easy what we thought. We fought with the tree for 2hours but we couldn't make it. At that moment, my father was coming to find us because we just disappeared without any notice. In the end, we could get the tree. My father helped us. We made a most beautiful Christmas tree I ever seen.

I like a baseball. I and my friends used to play a baseball. As usual in Korea, we played a baseball not in ground but in street. Sometimes, a ball was going to the house where a big dog lived. One day, I hit a ball and it was going to the that house. I couldn't help but go into the house because I hit the ball and nobody wanted to go there. When I stepped into the house, I could see the dog who was sleeping. I tried to don't make any sound. I was almost there but I made a sound. The dong started barking and ran to me. I didn't know what to do. I just ran and screamed. He keep following me and barking. At that moment, I threw the ball to the dog. Fortunately, I could hit the dog. The dog stopped barking and knocked down. I could run away from the dog without any hurt. However, the master of the dog found me and he scolded me. I felt sorry to that dog. After it happened, the dog avoided me.

Those are my three memorable childhood experiences. Thank you맞춤법 검사.

Greetings, Mr. 박성호!

Hi, again. Not much new to say here, since I just finished posting a brief comment regarding your fourth out-of-class homework assignment (tips on how to raise children). But I did find your fifth assignment (childhood recollections) very interesting and entertaining. However, I think I’d better reduce the amount of out-of-class composition assignments because some of you are tempted to copy material from the deep well of free information available on the Internet. That is, I will evaluate your English composition skills based mostly on your in-class writing assignments. By doing this I won’t have to worry that some of you (a minority, for sure) might be tempted to get “outside help” when posting your homework assignments. So be sure to complete all your in-class writing assignments on time.

Regarding your fifth assignment, as usual I (a) selected five major issues, and (b) gave the corrections (X: = incorrect; C: = correct). I hope you will carefully look at these corrections and keep them in mind when you submit future assignments (that is, try not to repeat them):

1.

X: When I was childhood, I used to go to mountain, which is located very near from my town, with my friend and brothers.
C: When I was a child, I, my friend, and my brothers used to go to a nearby mountain.

2.

X: If their dams were safe from the flood, it was a their victory.
C: If their dams were destroyed by the flood, they won the contest.

3.

X: We were saving the money to make a Christmas tree.
C: We saved up our money to put up a Christmas tree.

4.

X: The dog stopped barking and knocked down.
C: The dog stopped barking and collapsed. [Is this correct?]

5.

X: As usual in Korea, we played a baseball not in ground but in street.
C: In Korea we usually play baseball in the street on not on the playground.

I am giving a tentative grade regarding your fifth out-of-class composition activity, which is as follows (ranging from 1-10): 8.6

Well, I guess that’s about it for now. Take care, and I’ll see you soon.
